    Design of a Shelf Angle for masonry veneer anchored to concrete using a knife plate stand-off welded to an embed plate. The method uses the force method to determine reactions and deflection of the indeterminate structure. A partial moment connection is assumed that scales down the value of Em (to mimic the effects of a rotational stiffness spring) to 1/100th of Em. The effect of the reduction to Em is a reduction in the tension force in the ties and an increase in the horizontal leg deflection and is calibrated from deflection in recent testing,
