Rainflow analysis or rainflow counting


The Rainflow analysis is a method to extract closed loading reversals or cycles from a time series signal. It has a direct application in counting fatigue cycles in time-history data of mechanical stresses.


The input data of this app should be a signal in the time domain, i.e. a time series. This should be provided as a csv file with two columns as below:

The first column will be the time, and the second column contains the values of the signal (stress, pressure, etc). Note that the first row should be the names of the columns (any name is O.K).

You can download a sample input file from here.

Also, the number of bins for the histogram of the cycle ranges and the rainflow matrix is needed.
